Prayetic – a prayer meditation for The Divine Hours

A Prayer Meditation for The Divine Hours
On this day the LORD has acted; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Bless the LORD, O my soul, all that is within me, bless his holy Name.

Welcome to today's Prayetic meditation for The Divine Hours

Whether you're seated, walking, driving, or standing still, begin by shifting your awareness inward. Keep your eyes open if needed, especially for those who are driving or walking. Take a few moments to relax your body and mind. Take several deep breaths, hold them for a beat, then release any tension and stress with each exhale.

As you settle in, begin to focus on your connection to the Divine.
Offer up a prayer of gratitude for the gift of this moment and for the opportunity to commune with the Divine.

With your heart centered, say aloud the Call to Prayer: "Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving and raise a loud shout to him with psalms." Feel the invitation to enter into the presence of the Divine with a spirit of gratitude.

As you settle deeper into this state of prayer, make the Request for Presence: "LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer; hearken, O God of Jacob." Feel yourself calling out, longing for God's attention and presence in this moment.

Moving into the Greeting, allow your heart to express your commitment and joy: "My heart is firmly fixed, O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and make melody. For your loving-kindness is greater than the heavens, and your faithfulness reaches to the clouds."

Then, recite the Refrain for the Morning Lessons: "On this day the LORD has acted; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Let this affirmation resonate within you, creating a sense of joy and gratitude for the day.

Next, turn your attention to the Reading from the Gospel of John, Jesus' words of comfort: "I shall not leave you orphans; I shall come to you. On that day you will know that I am in my Father and you in me and I in you." Ponder the interconnectedness and unity of Jesus, God, and all believers, including you.

Again, return to the Refrain, further cementing your joy and gratitude: "On this day the LORD has acted; we will rejoice and be glad in it."

Let your heart sing the Morning Psalm, a hymn of praise to God's benefits and blessings: "Bless the LORD, O my soul. He forgives all your sins and heals all your infirmities; He redeems your life from the grave and crowns you with mercy and lovingkindness."

Echo the Small Verse, acknowledging God's power and the marvel of creation: "The LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods."

Now, with reverence, say the Lord's Prayer, connecting with millions of believers across the globe who are uttering these same words.
In the Prayer Appointed for the Week, ask for God's wisdom and guidance to help you let go of harmful thoughts and actions, replacing them with profitable ones.

Finally, say the Concluding Prayer of the Church, asking for protection, strength, and guidance in all you do this day. As you conclude, slowly open your eyes. Carry this sense of connection, peace, and purpose into the rest of your day. Amen.

Lord God, almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought me in safety to this new day: Preserve me with your mighty power, that I may not fall into sin, nor be overcome by adversity; and in all I do direct me to the fulfilling of your purpose; through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.

Sit in silence for a moment, feeling the presence of God and the peace that comes with prayer.

Carry this tranquility with you as you move through your day, comforted by the knowledge of God's steadfast love and grace.
